This week, an email will go out inviting Economist Educators to the 8th Annual Teaching Conference sponsored by the Gulf Coast Economics Association and Cengage Learning BUT YOU GET FIRST DIBS.
Go here to register and find out all about the conference.
This year we will be in Orlando Florida on November 8 and 9 at the Disney's Coronado Springs Resort.
Along with sessions by some of the most creative Economist Educators in the country, we have keynote talks by Greg Mankiw, James Gwartney and Daniel Gross, former senior editor at Newsweek and current editor for Yahoo Finance.
Some important notes:
Don't get shut out. Last year in New Orleans, we had a substantial increase in attendees from previous years. In fact, we topped out our registration before the conference. We are increasing our capacity a bit this year, but you may want to make sure you register early to get the discount and ensure that there is room for you.
Paper Submissions. The Gulf Coast Economics Association is telling us that paper submissions are tracking above last year. If you want your paper considered by the GCEA for presentation at the conference, we urge you to get it in ASAP, before the slots are filled. Submit Here.
Best in Class Teaching Award. This year at the meeting, we will be awarding the first Economist Educator Best in Class Teaching Award. Info is here. If you are submitting a paper to the conference anyway, why not also submit it to be considered for our award? You can find out all about that and submit an entry Here.
Questions? Let me know.
