Help a Colleague---Math Preparation Survey for Principles

An Economist Educator named Mark Monsky at Wake Technical Community College is doing a study about math skills and principles of economics. Here is Mark's request. Perhaps you would be willing to help him out.

I am an instructor at the Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, NC.  Math skills can be a barrier to student success in our Principles of Micro and Macroeconomics courses.  We currently do not screen students using placement exams or a Math course prerequisite.  We are considering restricting enrollment.

This is a request for your participation in a brief survey on math requirements for economics courses. Does your college screen?  What type of screening is used?  How do you address the gaps in math skills presented by your students once they are enrolled in your class?   Do you believe screening improves learning outcomes overall or detracts from learning opportunities?

If you can spare a few minutes, please consider participating in the survey.  All participants who include their email address will receive a summary of survey results.

To take the survey, CLICK HERE. Or cut and paste into your browser.   The survey is quick and easy.  Identification of your college is optional.
Thank you very much for your time and support.
