      This is a fascinating article written by Chris Kjorness about the growth and development of the Delta Blues. Just as fascinating to me is the role that the Sears Catalog played in making the perfect instrument available and affordable to a wide range of people.

    It is easy to think of the internet as a 'disruptive technology' but well before that, the explosion of ordering by catalog had to be a very disruptive element as well, especially to the local merchants in any given locale (similar effect that many claim Wal-Mart has to the new generations of those merchants?)
